Living History.
This is where we try to re-create the everyday life, everything from feeding the army and the ale-house, to the more relaxed soldier snoozing in his tent between battles.
Don't worry about knowing everything about the lifestyle before coming along. The roles within the living history are varied and you are sure to find one to suit you. The majority of ladies want to start in the suttlery, as feeding an army is a busy job and the more help the merrier. Children can help too, as there's usually butter to be made and firewood to be collected, and sometimes even chickens to be fed!
The roles aren't just limited to the ladies. Soldiers can learn to make musket balls, show visitors how to dismantle and clean the musket itself, or just help the visitors try on some armour and hold a pike. Alternatively they could visit the ale-house and purchase a beaker of ale and just sit around playing games.
If it sounds easy and relaxed, that's because it is!
